Querida Familia,
Greetings from Amatitlan! Family, I finally got that change call...Im in my second area now! Im so lucky as a newbie to be able to have spent 4 months in my first area. You all know how in love I am with the people in Frutal 2, it ripped my little heart out to say goodbye, to the people such as Guisela and her daughters, Jenny and Malu (we took some hilarious pictures with them the night before i left that i will try to send soon), Rosita and Manuel and Fatima and Gloria...oh my gosh Rosita could hardly talk to us because she was crying so hard, but she said the cutest thing, she goes ¨Hermanas, you have to know that i am never, never going to stop going to church, i will always have my faith in Christ¨That made everything ok. She is my favorite! have I sent pictures of her yet? And now, Im here in Zona Amatitlan, its not by the famous lake, this is different. But its a cool area. Hna Rubio is my companion from El Salvador! Shes 21 too and we are having fun! Things are very different here than in Frutal but we are getting adjusted but its great to be here! Im so thankful for the time I got to spend in Frutal, there are so many choice people there who are going to be baptized soon! And now I am grateful for the opportunity to be here in La Mariposa. La Mariposa is the name of the colony we live in and the name of our ward. Its a huge colony and we have a lot of work to do. In just these two days, we have received over 15 names of inactive families and 2 new references of people to teach! We had changes Monday and pday yesterday, so thats why im writing today, but next monday i will write again like normal. We met our bishop and he is wonderful. He wants to work side by side with us and gave us some great tips and ways to work in the area. We are going to focus on reactivation because their asitencia in sacrament meeting has been dropping and he promised us that if we will work with the members, especially the menos activos, we will find the people who are searching for the gospel through them. I believe this and so we are going to be working very diligently with the members here. There are some bien bien pilas familias that live here. We are very grateful for the help of the Familia Bonilla, with whom we had a noche de hogar our first night here and they have been helping us get things going. Hna bonilla gives us food from her little restaurant all the time, lunch and dinner! The members have fed us a lot but luckily there are tons of hills here and its hot, hot hot with jut a little bit of rain in the afternoon. We had to spend most of Pday cleaning the house yesterday...it was disgusting, sorry to be frank but we used 4 bags of cloro and then some! I think the elders hadnt cleaned the bathroom once and there were some strange things we found in the house...who knows, Elders are weird. But we are glad the members are accepting of us as hermanas. Ill give ya more details on the members and stuff next week as we get to know more people this week! I have learned that while change is hard sometimes, the Lord always provides. He gives us new experiences to learn from while getting to keep the great memories of great days and times gone by.
Love you all, not much time! adios the lord loves all of us, prayfor you lots! muah!
hermana wetzel
